It’s Giving Tuesday

action

2017 has been an exceptionally tough year. There have been national tragedies and natural disasters, awful policies put in place and great policies threatened.

What so many of you have done in response was give. You’ve donated money, time, and resources. You’ve marched and you’ve protested. You used what you have to try and protect and give to those who have less.

If you can, try and do a little bit of that day today. Make the word just a little bit better on this Giving Tuesday. Here are just a few exceptional places to which you can donate:

Can’t donate money? Try volunteering your time. Ask your employer if they offer paid time off to volunteer at a charity. Start a donation drive in your at your school.  Coats, socks, mittens, toys, and so much more can make a positive impact in your local community.

Have a nice day, Tumblr 💙

I really like to learn languages, too. Actually, it might be the first thing that taught me I could learn everything on my own, without teachers. And I found this perfect opportunity for Spanish learning! I went to volunteer meeting and signed up for conversation class assistant. Making friends with Spanish natives can definitely give me the similar kind of experience as I attended a language school in Mexico last winter. I am so excited to take a contact with them!

Does anybody know how Tumblr knows your ethnicity?

I realized my feed is accumulating a lot of Korean-star-related posts. I am Japanese as you see my ID, have never told Tumblr my ethnicity and never followed Korean-star-related posts. But it is so close. Are they using facial recognition system to identify at least I am an East Asian? If so, how can they tell I am not an Asian American? Does anybody know? It is so scary…

But I finally made it!

Where is Anaconda Prompt?

image

I downloaded Anaconda for Intro to Data Analysis by Udacity. It comes with Python and Python’s standard libraries for data analysis like Panda. Sounds so handy. But it took me whole an hour searching for the prompt, finally ask my friend, Rishabh, to figure out. It is directly inside of the Anaconda file, no other child files, and has a prompt icon. Thank you, Rishabh. It’s hard to figure out these small things for non-tech-savvys.
